- So, how can I do this Couponing "thing" too? A question I'm asked a lot. To help answer this question, I'll be writing a number of posts about Gathering Coupons, Shopping and Store & Coupon Policies.
No Coupons ... No Great Deals! This first post is all about where to find them.
- Gather as many coupons as you can. You never know what the upcoming deals will be, so the key is to be prepared with a large supply of coupons!
Paper Coupons:
- Sunday Paper: I usually buy one copy to see what coupons are included in our regional inserts. If there are a number of really good coupons, I may go back and buy several more papers. Of course, consider the cost of the paper to make sure you're still money ahead.
- Friends & Neighbors: Get your inserts FREE by asking friends and neighbors to save their inserts for you. You might be amazed to know many people throw them away. You can even check with your local convenience store or gas station to see what they do with their inserts at the end of the day. They may allow you to pick them up for free when they close!
- Clipping Services: I use online clipping services pretty regularly. Many times there's only a handful of coupons I want (or a specific coupon I want a large number of) from the Sunday inserts. It doesn't always make financial sense to buy more papers. You can order individual coupons online for approximately 10% of the coupon value. There are many companies offering this service. The clipping services I have used so far, and recommend, are:
