CVS Shopping Spree!

Just got back from CVS and, WOW!, what a trip!  I took home all of the items above, plus a 9 pack of Scott Paper Towels (Mega size), and only spent $1.41! Plus, I left with a $5.00 ECB and a $7.00 ECB!!  I almost feel guilty.  :)

Here's the details:

  • 16 - Seattle's Best Iced Latte's & used 16 FREE coupons!  (Bought coupons from a clipping service.)
  • 2 - Colgate Clinical Toothpaste - on clearance 90% off for only $0.48 each!
  • 1 NYX Eye Pencil - on clearance 90% off for only $0.39!
  • 1 - Fillipo Berio Oilive Oil - on sale $3.99, used $1.00 coupon = $2.99
  • 1 - Scott Paper Towels, Mega 9pk - on sale $4.77, used $0.50 coupon = $4.27
  • 1 - Lumene Firming Lotion - on sale $3.79, used $4.00 coupon = FREE
  • 1 - RePhresh Tampons - $6.79, received $7.00 ECB (from rain check)
  • Used $5.00 off $25 CVS coupon (received via email)
  • Used $5.00 Extra Buck from previous purchase
  • Used $3.00 Extra Buck from previous purchase
  • Final Out of Pocket = $1.41 (mostly tax)
  • Plus, received $7.00 ECB (from RePhresh Tampons)!
  • Plus, received $5.00 ECB (after spending $50 on Beauty products this year)!
  • Note: if I wouldn't have had the $8.00 in ECB's, I would have done this in 2 transactions ... #1 with the RePhresh Tampons.  Then, used that $7 ECB to pay for the remaining items.

Tip:  When you make a purchase that produces an ECB, use it wisely - think of it as cash.  Only use it on items you would otherwise spend cash on.  Don't feel bad about saving them for later ... you'll be glad you did when the HOT deals are there.

That being said, always try to spend as little out-of-pocket cash as possible.  Often times, that means doing several transactions (use an ECB from transaction #1 to pay for transaction #2 and so on).  As you accumulate 'extra' ECB's, it's usually not necessary to do multiple transactions; you will find yourself just replacing those 'extra' ECB's with new ones each time ... with a little luck you'll end up ahead like I did above.

If I can help with any of your CVS questions, please let me know!
